... Huh

1 min read
Yeah, sorry for not updating in... Er, a year or two... Scanner proved more trouble than it was worth, and I've been busy with school...

Oddly enough, my admittedly-kinda-awful Final Fantasy fic is still somewhat popular... Weird. To those who read it, I do plan on updating it... Um, eventually... When I started, I hadn't really thought it through all the way, and Maia was sort of a blatant self-insert... I plan on re-writing the first chapters without her. Er, eventually... I'm kind of awful at actually DOING things...

Anyways, thanks for all the comments and whatnot!

They say they hate one thing, and then do the thing they hate without acknowledging it. They reply to rudeness with more rudeness. They imagine themselves are paragons of awesome, and lash out at anyone who says differently. They have things like ED articles made about them, plainly laying out (albeit exaggerating some of) their flaws. And they still say that it's all lies.

And I do it too, don't I?

Yeah, everyone would rather pain themselves in a more flattering light. No one WANTS to acknowledge their flaws. But there are some flaws that people are incapable of seeing in themselves. If someone else points them out, they get insulted, but it seems pretty much impossible to see it on their own...

Why can't everyone politely criticize eachother's flaws? And then everyone takes those criticisms into account, tries to change for the better, and moves on?

For that matter, why can't money grow on trees, why can't we have world peace? Why can't boys' minds be less complicated?

Also back to school. Bleh. :P

So yeah, as most of you can tell by the title of this post, I just got back from New York with my mom. And it was awesome, though not as awesome as it was last year. My mom and I have gone to NYC for the past 3 years now and it's lost some of its magic... Instead of the awesomeness, all I could focus on were the crowds and the smell. Chinatown was terrifying and confusing, and I found myself having many small panic attacks during the trip. Yeah, I'm kind if a pussy like that. Don't get me wrong, it was still a fun trip, just not the glittering weekend of awesome I remember having last year.

And now I'm gonna talk about the shows we saw because thinking people actually care what I think about something makes me feel important!

A Little Night Music: My mom insisted that we see this one, since it had Bernadette Peters and Elane Strich (probably spelled that wrong) in it. It turned out to be STONKING AWESOME, with great acting, great songs, and all around... well, great.

The Addams Family: Yes, THAT Addams family. This musical was a lot of fun, though not really anything special. There were a lot of funny moments (as to be expected with Nathan Lane), but while the songs were good, they weren't great. Still a good show, though.

Lend me a Tenor: This one was a play, not a musical. It had Monk in it! And it was hilarious! I really wish this one was better known, because it really was great.

Oh yeah, and my desktop is dead and I'm permanently switching to my laptop, not that any of you care. And I'm in Star Wars Geek-Out mode. Anyone care to join me?

*takes deep breath*

MY DOG'S GONNA BE OKAY!

Turns out it wasn't heart failure. It was cushing's disease, doggy asthma, and some benign tumors on her liver and pituitary glands. Sure, lots of other problems, but they're smallish and treatable. After spending most of yesterday crying, this is a HUGE relief.

And yeah, I'm aware that only like two people read this. I like to rant.
