During the summer I attended a screenwriting camp where we wrote down several ideas for various films. One of mine was about a girl by the name of Sarah. Sarah was from a rather religious family, and went to a catholic school. Sarah was best friends with a girl names Lily. Lily was an atheist, and a lesbian. Because of this, school was very difficult for both girls. Sarah herself was attracted to Lily, but didn’t know how to deal with these feelings.

When Lily commits suicide, Sarah is left with all sorts of regrets. She struggles with her peers, her parents, her teachers, and herself.

I really liked the story idea, but I don’t think I know enough about the subject matter. Sarah is a closet lesbian who has a catholic family, and I’m a straight Jewish girl who isn’t very religious. I attended a catholic school for a short while, but that didn’t exactly give me all the information I needed. Besides all that, I’m much more comfortable writing about the supernatural. I don’t think I’ve experienced enough of real life to write about it yet.

But the story idea remains. So I was thinking… maybe I should try to add some supernatural elements to it? Maybe Sarah has to deal with some sort of monster? I don’t know.

I need you guys’s help, though. One of the main reasons I can never finish a story is because I lack motivation. And ideas. And feedback. Seriously, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. Be as brutal as you like, I need feedback.
